FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY GIFT- oh the places we've been!

This is an A3 commission I was asked to do by my lovely Step Dad for my Mum to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

They had a rather fabulous year, managing to clock up a pretty long list of lovely places visited. I was asked to include all of them in one large piece. I am very happy to say I fit them all in, and managed to sneakily put them in order. 

This is one of my favourite commissions, it was challenging, but so fun to do, and I get to see it framed on the wall whenever I visit, I'm sure for many years to come! (Thank goodness it wasn't a house plant, or that poor sod would be long gone :) Love you Mum!)

10th wedding anniversary paper cut gift...

apologies for the massive delay in updating, i had a baby. i'll try not to go on about it, but if you are curious have a look here.

this is a commission i was asked to make way back in 2012, we have A LOT of catching up to do!!

this was an A4 10th wedding anniversary gift which included a few of their favourite things. all commissions are hand drawn and hand cut, making them completely one of a kind, and completely special to those receiving.

hello new...

hello lovely readers

it's been a while, how've you been?

i have been enjoying life with little Max, i am both excited and sad that my maternity leave is nearly over, but it will be nice to enjoy both worlds for the first time.

i will be back to business (part time) on the 7th April, bringing with me some lovely newie-newness!

i am introducing printed greetings cards, and limited prints, so you can enjoy the design without having to get a commission, perfect for those of you who are convinced you will destroy a paper cut by looking at it!

also, over the next few months i will be getting a fancy new website, which i am mega excited about. thanks to Andrew who works over at Creative Intent, my online presence should all make a bit more sense!

i am currently (during nap times) trying to work my way through the heck load of emails that have piled up. if you are waiting, my apologies, i am hoping most of you have had babies... if not please try; feeding a distracted bird, bathing your cat, constantly entertaining a needy puppy, carrying around a wriggling bowling ball that cries if you put it down, and washing for a football team that play everyday, all whilst trying to appear sane and relatively groomed on 5 hours sleep a night... for seven months :) thank you.
(please don't be put off, it is the best kind of crazy)

peruvian heart paper cut for a special lady...

this is a piece i designed and made for my lovely Step Mum Carla last year for her birthday. it was based on the Peruvian flag, including some things i know she loves, like chillies, candles, oysters, champagne, stars, bows and a heart!

it just so happens her birthday was yesterday (i know i'm a day late, but i have a baby ok?) so HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARLA!!! thank you for everything you have done for me over the last year, both Max and I really appreciate you being around.

paper cut gift for a sister's special day...

it seems i am almost a year behind in sharing my commissions with you, i had better share them a bit more often!

this was an A4 commission i made for the sister of a lovely couple who got married in Suffolk. they got to share their special day with their two beautiful boys, i hope they all have a lovely anniversary this year!

whimsical family tree paper cut...

hello! sorry i know it's been a while, i've been building suspense... or trying to finish all my commissions in time for maternity leave, i'll let you decide which.

this is an A4 family tree i was commissioned to make last year, we put something descriptive of each person on each branch, then filled it with lots of decoration, which makes it nice and whimsical!

i am now on maternity leave until the new year. if you would like a commission for after then please get in touch at emma@emma-daniels.co.uk if not maybe see how i'm getting on here...

a very bittersweet announcement... 

i have stopped taking commissions for this year. 

i am now fully booked until i go on maternity leave in July. as much as i would love to say yes to everybody there are just not enough hours in the day, and i don't want to over do it at the moment! I will start taking commissions again in the new year, but will still be checking my email, so please get in touch if you have any queries. 

i will still be updating this blog weekly (hopefully) with past commissions so you don't forget about me! 

paper cut wedding invite design...

this piece was commissioned by a lovely lady who found me via pinterest. she wanted to commission me to design and cut a piece which she could then use as wedding invitations. the piece was later professionally scanned and printed to provide her with lots of invites! she wanted me to include the main wedding details, the two of them together and a little something to describe each one, in this case a rugby ball and a cake! their wedding was last weekend, i hope she had a wonderful day!

i am in bloom, and it is blooming very quickly!

so this is happening!

i have decided to stop work in July in order to organise myself and try to rest (without feeling guilty about it)... also by then i'm not sure if i'll be able to reach my cutting mat!

therefore i will have to stop accepting commissions as of early June in order to get everything done in time. so if you are thinking of getting a commission for this year, please get in contact before June to avoid disappointment! i will of course make last calls and let it be known if i have any spaces or sudden bursts of energy (ha!). After this i will start taking commissions again in the new year!

over my leave, once i learn the art of multi tasking with a baby, i will be reading and replying to emails as usual (but probably not as quickly), so please get in touch if you have questions, i also still have a back catalog of commissions i will be posting to this blog, so you don't forget what a paper cut is.

however my main source of contact with the outside world will be my personal blog paper & pasta, where i will try to share what i learn about becoming an actual parent and will use as a place to put the inevitable baby photos without my other social medias becoming too 'wallet in the face'y...
