hand cut home cooked...

in preperation for my show i have been heat protecting my paper lightshades with a eco friendly homemade heat spray (follow link for recipe- http://www.ehow.com/how_4705220_make-fire-retardant-spray.html)

what happened last tuesday?

this is the second cut of my 'a1 headlines collection'  this one describes the headlines on the 5th april... and the mood i was in that day...

Monday, 4 April 2011

i read the news today oh boy...

i missed cutting by hand, so on friday i set myself a mini project...

i took note of the main headlines of the day, then described them in cut-out form onto an A1 piece of paper...

here's what happened...

(sorry the content is not all that cheerful, people need to start being a whole load nicer to each other so the news is not so god damn depressing)

like a moth to a flame...

here are my new, very messy versions of a light shade, i have always prefered the messy look!

this is my charm bracelet design, this time with two layers...

this is my 'take a sad song and make it better' design, which was designed with the lovely alice in mind, who is currently 'carrying the world upon her shoulders'...

this last one is my 'Great Britain stamp' design, which is four seperate pieces hung together which naturally curl round the bulb...

cut Tetra with a more detailed design, sprayed antique white

'protects what's good' Tetra Paks slogan with protecting hands

milk carton with base removed (very simple but produces a lovely atmosphere in the room!)
